Your Questions Answered
What color should I choose?
Brides should almost always wear white pearls, clear or light-colored crystals or stones.
Should bridesmaids' accessories match their dresses?
Keep in mind their bouquets, shoes, and headgear. Too much of the same color can overwhelm. Avoid, for example, a red dress, red rose bouquet, red headband, red shoes, and red lipstick/nail polish.
Try to balance colors using one of the following methods:
- Use white pearls with just a touch of the dress color mixed in, using crystals or stones.
- Use a matching color, but keep the jewelry small, such as a simple pendant & earring set. Be sure to provide a fabric swatch.
- Use a lighter or darker color in the same family (e.g, pink w/burgundy; jade w/sea green).
- Use a contrasting color (e.g., celadon w/lavender) or a complimentary color (e.g. light blue w/purple).
- Use an attractive chain with just a touch of pearl or stone.
- When in doubt, white pearls or clear stones go with everything.
A Note about Custom Jewelry
Custom-made jewelry usually requires that we search the wholesale markets for what you want, as we don't carry it in stock. When we find it, we must treat it like "the day's catch" and buy it immediately, because it likely will not be there later. Our suppliers are excellent, but we cannot predict or insure availability. Therefore, the price estimate we give you is based on availability and constantly-changing market rates for pearls, stones, silver, and gold. Every effort is made to give you a firm price at time of estimate, but in some cases price may change during sourcing of materials. If this happens, every effort is made to consult with you about the price change before purchasing materials. Once materials are purchased they cannot be returned. At least 4 weeks' advance order is recommended to allow this process to happen. Providing a fabric swatch is essential. Expect slight natural variations in materials.
